We are excited to announce that the inaugural Autism Fest Austin Conference and Mardi Gras Fundraiser will be taking place THIS Saturday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. at Haven located at 408 Colorado (downtown). This 12-hour event includes influential speakers and Autism researchers, film screenings, including Fly Away, Actress Beth Broderick’s recent film, which she will introduce in person, arts and crafts, food, drink, and entertainment for attendees of all ages. Entertainment in the evening will include music by four local bands, including The Great Nostalgic, The Pons, Rebecca Moreland, and Cody Coppin and complimentary adult beverage tastings provided by Three Olives (after 6 p.m.).
AFA was a great success. The day brought world renowned doctors to the Austin area and some of them met for the first time. Parents were able to meet and talk with the doctors while the kids could play, get their faces painted and meet Silly Sparkles the clown. We had a magician wow the crowd. As the day turned into night our bands took to the stage, one after another they rocked out and we all had a great time. We are looking forward to partnering with ATUSA and NAA again.
